Daiki Axis Raises Environmental Awareness Among Children Through Impactful CSR Initiative

Daiki Axis Environment, one of the country’s leading package sewage treatment product suppliers, recently hosted an Art Competition for kids as part of their annual CSR initiatives, with an overarching goal to create greater awareness on environmental conservation among children.

Driven by the sustainable nature of its very business, Daiki Axis remains dedicated to protecting the environment, with the concept of the competition strongly reflecting the company’s commitment to preserve fresh water reserves, biodiversity, and aquatic life, ensuring their availability for current and future generations.

The Art Competition was organized by Daiki Axis in partnership with Japanese-backed NGO Surangani Voluntary Services (SVS), an organization that focuses on improving learning environments for children, particularly those with special needs, and supporting preschools in disadvantaged communities.


The participants were deserving children hailing from low income families supported by the SVS.

The event, held at the Sapphire Banquet Hall at the BMICH, was graced by a number of esteemed guests and dignitaries, including Hon. (Dr.) Anton Jayakody– Deputy Minister of Environment as Mr. Prabath Dhanayake Chief Operating Officer Daiki Axsi Sri Lanka Environment.


The Parent Company Daiki Japan was represented by Mr. Hiroki Ogame – the President and CEO of Daiki Japan,Mr. Shiyna Takoka – Senior Director of Global Operations, Rui Owase Managing Director Daiki Japan,Mr. Masato Kondo Genaral Manager Corporate Promotion Division Daiki Japan and Ms. Eri Naito Corporate Promotion Division Daiki Japan.

Mr. Hiroki Ogame welcomed all students, parents and guests to the event on behalf of the entire team, hailing the competition as a celebration of creativity, community and shared commitment to protecting the environment.


“It is a great honour for us to host this children’s drawing contest in Sri Lanka, under the theme ‘Let’s Clean and Protect Our Water Environment’,” he commented.


“We don’t see this as a one-time event, we see this as the beginning of a deeper relationship with Sri Lanka, a country we deeply respect.


We hope to contribute more in the years to come, whether it’s through clean water systems, environmental education, or community engagement, we are here to listen, to learn and to walk far together.”

Mr. Ogame emphasized that this initiative remains in line with the Daiki Axis Group mission - ‘To protect the environment and change the future’.


“Today we are driving this mission not through machines and numbers, but through drawings, through the hands of Children, through hope.


This is not just an art contest, it is a celebration of awareness, action and imagination,” Mr. Ogame concluded, congratulating the winners, and thanking all participants for the inspiration.


Daiki Axis rewarded all participating students with Japanese educational equipment necessary for one school year including a school bag, stationery, umbrella and other essential items.


Additionally, 16 winners were chosen from the 4 age groups and were awarded with a special gift for their creativity.


All participating students, teachers and parents were also treated to a city tour around Colombo, and complimentary meals during the event.

“This competition has been organized to not only celebrate their artistic abilities, but also to raise awareness, encourage critical thinking, and inspire young children to take steps towards protecting the planet in their own way.”
