UTE Promotes Energy Efficiency through FS Curtis Air Compressors

In response to increased demand for energy efficient machinery, United Tractors and Equipment (UTE) added the FS Curtis range of industrial air compressors to its portfolio, at a special event held at Playtrix Sports Bar and Cafe.

“Air compressors have multiple applications for industrial use, with manufacturers increasingly opting to use them to convert power into kinetic energy by compressing or pressurising air. As pneumatic tools consume less energy than the electric tools in general, many of the industries increasingly use pneumatic technology for their day today activities. Also there are many industries which require compressed air for their production processes”, said Manjula Vithanage – GM Power Systems at UTE.

The FS Curtis is expected to draw much interest from UTE's clientele, particularly with the recent skyrocketing of energy costs, which has had a negative impact on local manufacturer's competitiveness in the global market. In fact, FS Curtis' air compressors are expected to cut energy consumption by as much as 30%.

Widely recognised as a pioneer in the global air compressor industry, FS Curtis built the world’s first reciprocating air compressor in 1897. Since then, it has continued to act as an innovator, building many unique product features which have resulted in highly efficient air compressors. For instance, the patented 3rd generation rotor profile design, which is installed in heavy duty housing in the FS Curtis air compressors and its proprietary E-cool design, ensures maximum energy efficiency in the industry.

The FS Curtis range is also manufactured to ISO 9001 and 14001 certification standards.

Although a US brand, with its headquarters in Missouri, FS Curtis has a global production and marketing footprint, with 11 facilities in Germany, Taiwan, India, China, Vietnam and Brazil.

UTE is also the sole authorized dealer in Sri Lanka for Caterpillar, the world’s leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines, diesel-electric locomotives and lift trucks.
