The festival showcases the Sri Lanka Cyber Games (SLCG), the country’s national eSports tournament, organized by Gamer.LK for the 9th consecutive year.
SLCG caters to gamers from all regions of the country with qualifiers being held in the Northern, Central, Southern and Western regions of Sri Lanka, where players are brought to Colombo upon qualifying for the Grand Finale.
Alongside the eSports Championship, the Colombo Comic Con will be held on the 10th and 11th of December at the same venue.
Dedicated to comic fans and artists, Colombo Comic Con will feature a schedule of events showcasing Sri Lankan art, film, Cosplay and geek culture throughout the 2 days of the event.
Colombo Comic Con is the final event in a series, with the Kandy Comic Con being held in November at the Kandy City Center.
SLCG 2016 features the most popular online multiplayer gaming titles in Sri Lanka, namely Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Dota 2, Counter Strike: Global Offensive, League of Legends, Call of Duty: Advance Warfare as well as single player gaming titles such as Mortal Kombat: XL, FIFA 16, Project Cars as official titles.
In addition, newer titles such as Overwatch and Tekken Tag Tournament 2 are featured as promotional titles with Ingress, Clash Royale and Rider Rush by Honda being played as the mobile game titles at SLCG 2016.
Attracting nearly 2,500 tournament participants last year, with an additional 20,000 attending to watch the games as spectators, participation and interest in SLCG has made it the largest event of its kind in the country.
SLCG is one of the first events to be recognized as a competitive ranked event by the Sri Lanka eSports Association (SLeSA).
Organised by Gamer.LK (www.gamer.lk), a multi-genre video gaming community that’s powered by digital entertainment enthusiasts, this festival was conceived with the goal of giving digital entertainment in Sri Lanka a substantial platform for recognition, while also offering a growing digital entertainment culture the exposure it deserves.
The Colombo Comic Con will feature panel discussions with renowned personalities in the movie industry, game developers and comic artists, as well as laser tag competitions, cosplay competitions complete with a ramp walk to crown Sri Lanka’s best cosplayer as well as a unique blend of activities that are sure to excite and thrill its varied audience.
Attendees are encouraged to dress up as their favourite characters as they visit the Colombo Comic Con and peruse Sri Lankan comic art, swap, buy and sell geek comics, toys, miniature figures and other collectibles at the vendor stalls, all while being immersed in this emerging culture.

Dialog who brings fast, low latency connections for gamers in Sri Lanka has stepped into power SLCG and Colombo Comic Con for the fourth consecutive year.
