With a renewed focus on empowering their employees to become product consultants to a growing global clientele, software product engineering specialist 99X Technology engaged Tarigo Consulting, UK to conduct Product Management workshops to drive their next wave of growth.

99X Technology conducted a second series of workshops on Product Management for its project leadership teams in partnership with Tarigo, a leading training and consulting company that focuses exclusively on product management competencies.

Garry Avery, founder and Principal Consultant of Tarigo, was in Colombo to facilitate the workshops. Established in 2003, Tarigo has trained over 15,000 professionals and are the global experts in product management training.

Hasith Yaggahavita, Chief Technology Officer at 99X Technology commented: “Our value proposition is quite different from typical software service offerings in the industry.

We engage with our customers to co-create complex products and solutions by integrating into their core value chain.

This requires our teams to have a product mindset, as well as skills in product management at each stage of the product lifecycle.”

He observed that having over 150 employees participate and benefit from this customised training program, aligned with the company’s Winning Product strategy, will enable the employees to gain skills beyond software development and empower them to engage with clients as product consultants.

Core topics included in the program consider activities across the user experience, market sense, engineering excellence and customer success disciplines.

Tarigo Founder Garry Avery noted “I’m delighted to be part of this innovative and forward-thinking program.

Building a winning product mindset is fundamental to the success of a product-driven organisation.

99X Technology ensures that their teams have the skills and abilities to deliver winning products to the market.

This will not only enhance 99X Technology’s capabilities, but also give them the skills to help their customers build more winning products.

This initiative will help 99X Technology to continue with their phenomenal growth by ensuring the products they build endure to delight their customers.”

As announced in January, 99X Technology saw top-line performance growth of 50% year-on-year for the financial year ended 31 December 2019.

The company also saw a 30% growth in headcount and expanded operations to occupy four floors at the Lee Hedges tower in Colombo 03.

Headquartered in Sri Lanka, 99X Technology takes pride in engineering its cutting-edge software products from its offices in Colombo.

The company was adjudged one of Asia’s Best Workplaces for 2019 and is a regional leader in software product engineering and technology innovation.

Its expertise has been proven through a 175+ portfolio of successful global software products developed since the year 2000, by partnering with leading Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) across Europe and Australasia.
