Opening Ceremony of Material Collection and Processing Center MCPC in Alawwa

Coca-Cola Sri Lanka inaugurated the Alawwa Material Collection and Processing Center (MCPC) on October 16, 2025, under a project funded by The Coca-Cola Foundation (TCCF) and implemented by Janathakshan GTE Ltd., a not-for-profit organization promoting sustainable development.

The initiative enhances Sri Lanka’s waste management infrastructure by promoting recycling, responsible waste collection, and employment for women and youth aligning with the Government’s ‘Clean Sri Lanka’ vision.


The
Alawwa MCPC, one of five centers supported by TCCF, focuses on collecting and processing PET waste, creating livelihoods, and fostering environmental stewardship.
