Social Entrepreneurs trained in Sri Lanka

Social Enterprise Lanka successfully concluded a series of unique workshops for a selected group of social entrepreneurs.

Social Enterprises are self-sustainable entities with the core-purpose of creating positive social and environmental impact.

“The tools given to us such as the Business Model Canvas (BMC) and the templates such as Financial Plans are super useful” said one of the participants.

The six workshops were specially designed to meet the needs of the social entrepreneurs covering all essential areas such as: the principles of social enterprise, how to develop a good business model, how to measure and report impact, bookkeeping and managing cash flow, marketing and sales, legal requirements and taxes, business planning for impact investment.

“Good combination of theory and practice” said another participant.

Specific workshops were organised in partnership with the Centre for Advancement of Resource Mobilisation (CARM), LegalInc, and Lanka Impact Investing Network (LIIN) with the support of the Good Market.

Workshops were held on Wednesdays and Thursdays over a period of three weeks from 5.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. at the Hive at MAS and at APIIT in Union Place, Colombo 2.

Participants said “we liked the interactive style of the workshops and the real-life examples really helped us to understand”.

“Our vision is to create a thriving social enterprise sector in Sri Lanka by 2025.

To do that we need to equip the current and aspiring social entrepreneurs in Sri Lanka with the latest knowledge, skills and tools needed to be successful in their ventures.

The Average Net Promoter Score is 91.6% which is a clear indicator of the high quality of our workshops.

We will now take these workshops all around Sri Lanka.

They will be delivered in all three languages to social entrepreneurs at all stages.
