Through this new hands-on interior design programme, students will have the opportunity to explore commercial, architectural and decorative spaces and equipped with skills to lead to a career in creative industries such as interior design and retail practice, brand consultancy and visualization securing a footing in the industry or even towards postgraduate studies.
The SLIIT School of Architecture is housed in a state-of-the-art facility offering creative and studio-based education setup through one-on-one design tutoring, lectures and working areas which are of global standards.
These facilities provide Sri Lankan students with an experience of studying at a truly international university without leaving local shores.
The challenging and carefully-focused curriculum has been developed to provide further opportunities for study, research and critical analysis, in order to broaden the students’ technical knowledge and skills to meet the increasing demands of the industry.
Despite the challenging times due to the pandemic, the SLIIT School of Architecture has been able to admirably adapt ensuring a virtual learning environment where student studies are not impacted.
SLIIT aims to create professionals with an artistic flair, who are technically skilled and able to respond to the needs of the professional market and work shoulder to shoulder with global creativity.
The quality of SLIIT Architecture programmes are clearly evident by the RIBA’s full accreditation received within the first four years of the school’s existence in addition to receiving three commendations.
The new BA (Hons.) Interior Design degree has also received a full 5-year validation from LJMU.
The SLIIT School of Architecture has a team of extremely dedicated senior architects who are industry experts, trained in teaching and design ensuring individual attention and support.

Entry for the programme requires a minimum three passes in A/Ls in one and the same sitting in any stream with a minimum C pass for O' Level English.
Students also need to pass the SLIIT architecture aptitude test.
SLIIT invites students to sit for the aptitude test and join the orientation programme in September 2021.
There are only 60 seats available for this degree due to the requirement of providing individually assigned personal work spaces for each student at the studios.
