Vision Care Celebrates International Womens Day 2024 Championing Inclusion and Equality

Businesscafe - Vision Care, Sri Lanka’s largest vision and eye wear solutions provider, celebrates International Women’s Day by dedicating a day to recognize the achievements and contributions of their female employees across all spectrums.

Under the theme "Inspire Inclusion," Vision Care reaffirms its commitment to fostering an environment where women from diverse backgrounds thrive and excel, empowering your vision through their dedication and expertise.

Women at Vision Care serve in various capacities, spanning from optometrists and audiologists to dispensing staff, management personnel, finance, HR & Admin, IT, procurement, compliance and sales & marketing professionals.

Moreover, female students at the Vision Care Academy are actively engaged in training programs, poised to become the next generation of proficient optometrists.

Harsha Maduranga, General Manager of Vision Care, stated,

"As we commemorate International Women's Day, we are proud to acknowledge the invaluable contributions of our female employees who play a pivotal role in empowering your vision.

Their dedication, passion, and expertise exemplify our commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace."

As Vision Care celebrates 32 years of operations the company has made remarkable progress in creating a work environment that treats female employees equally.

It is a diverse, equitable and inclusive work environment that is free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination.

Currently, up to 54% of management and operational positions at Vision Care are held by females.

Vision Care has an equal pay system for men and women and therefore there is no gender pay gap in the company.

It provides equal opportunities for all employees to enter Executive Development programmes based on their ability to perform the job and not on the basis of race, gender, creed, politics or other personal characteristics or beliefs.

Vision Care's steadfast dedication to inclusivity extends beyond its internal operations, resonating within the broader community.

By championing diversity and equality, Vision Care not only enhances the workplace experience for its employees but also contributes to a more inclusive society.

Vision Care is making plans to expand its branch network to selected cities across the island while continuing to set the benchmark for eye care in Sri Lanka by bringing down the best eye and hearing care technologies.

With the opening of new branches, female candidates from those areas will have ample opportunities to gain employment in the company and build a career in the eyecare industry.
