According to the Financial Times ‘Facebook at Work’ will retain the same skin and features as the current consumer edition but will also users to maintain a work profile in tandem with their personal page.
Facebook has not thus far contested the space but is believed to have been planning its move for up to a year behind the scenes, challenging popular tools such as Slack and Yammer which have moved to fill the vacuum.
It comes as Facebook reaches saturation point in many developed markets, prompting it to seek alternative traffic generators particularly in the nine to five period when many employees are actively discouraged from logging onto social networks.
