French luxury beauty brand Lancôme launches in Sri Lanka ( Video )

French luxury beauty brand Lancôme was introduced to Sri Lanka at an elegant dinner affair at the Waters Edge on 7 October.

Lancôme’s three pronged approach to beauty-skincare, make up and fragrance-will be represented in Sri Lanka by Pee Bee Group.

For over 80 years Lancôme has embodied the notion of beauty with a definitive French touch.

The premium beauty brand powerhouse was founded in 1935 by Armand Petitjean, a Frenchman who was born into a family of distillers and thus familiar with the techniques of manufacturing fragrances.

Petitjean derived the name Lancôme from Le Château de Lancosme an ancient castle in Central France and was inspired to feature the roses nearby in his logo.

Petitjean’s vision for taking this uniquely French sense of style and beauty to the world translated over the years to a holistic approach on Lancôme’s end; the complementarity between makeup, beauty care and fragrances to suit the needs of an international clientele.

Today the founder’s vision has crossed oceans to over 130 countries with brand ambassadresses such as Julia Roberts, Penélope Cruz, Kate Winslet, Lupita Nyong’o, Lily Collins, Alma Jodorowsky and Daria Weerbowy’s endorsements of the brand.

Lancôme’s official launch event in Sri Lanka took place on the invitation of Jerome Georges-Vivien, Zone Director New Markets for Lancôme, together with Hiru Surtani, Director of Pee Bee Group. Guests included Hugues Reydet, Economic Counsellor at the Embassy of France in Sri Lanka and Maldives as well as other special invitees.

Pee Bee Group was appointed as the sole agent representing Lancôme in Sri Lanka.

The company has been in the local beauty industry for over 20 years and represents 50+ international luxury brands for fragrance, skincare and cosmetics. Lancôme products will be available only at Exclusive Lines outlets– located at Crescat Boulevard, Majestic City and Odel – Colombo 7.

At the launch event Lancôme’s professional make up artists were on hand to address queries and perform demonstrations for guests, transforming a light and casual day makeup to a striking night-time look using Lancôme products, wielding in particular the famous Lancôme mascaras and lipsticks.

In Sri Lanka, these products will be available only at Exclusive Lines outlets.

Among the key pillars, they will retain best selling perfumes ‘La vie est belle’ and ‘Trésor’, the worldwide star mascara ‘Hypnôse’ and the foundation ‘Teint Miracle’, together with an impressive range of skincare products for all ages and skin types including iconic products such as ‘Advanced Génifique’ and ‘Visionnaire’.

Lancôme can count on 3,000 researchers and 16 research centers and cooperates with world renowned universities and the most prestigious scientific publications.

The brand’s aim is to offer every woman the possibility to blossom, to enhance her beauty and femininity, whatever her age or skin tone may be, by giving her the best of science with major innovations that have marked their epoch.

Lancôme, which is already present in 135 countries, has one ambition in Sri Lanka: sublimate the beauty of the Sri Lankan woman, whatever her age by offering the best of science.

Make life and women in Sri Lanka more beautiful and happier.

Lancôme’s ambition is that every woman who comes to Lancôme to be more beautiful leaves happier.
