Critical Care and Cardiac Monitoring Platforms showcased at Annual Anesthesiologists Congress

The 32nd Annual Academic Congress of the College of Anesthesiologists and Intensivists was held recently in Colombo focusing on improving outcome through safety and knowledge.

Recognised as the county’s foremost surgical and medical technology company, Ceyoka (Pvt) Ltd served as a platinum sponsor at this year’s annual conference.

Commenting on Ceyoka’s contribution towards the success of the session, Dr. Kanishka Indraratna, President, College of Anaesthesiologists and Intensivists of Sri Lanka said, “I look at trade in a different way.

Not only as a financial sponsor, I think that trade companies have a lot to contribute in education and Ceyoka particularly being market leaders in monitoring cardiac functions and hemodynamics have a lot to contribute for enhancing recovery of patients after anesthesia and critical care”

Together with its brand partners, Edwards Lifesciences – the global leader in the science of heart valves and hemodynamic monitoring, Fukuda Denshi – manufacturer of medical equipment centering on cardiovascular and respiratory systems and Fresenius Medical Care – supplier of innovative products for treating dialysis patients, Ceyoka provided valuable hands-on demonstrations by experts at its trade stall for attendees to experience the latest advances in enhancing patient care and saving lives.

“At Ceyoka, we are committed to provide the local healthcare community with innovative products that improve patient care in the surgical suite.

We believe the local anesthesiology segment contributes immensely to patient wellbeing and sharing these values with our brand partners we can lead the charge to improve patient safety and care,” said Emmanuel Murugaiah, Head of Surgical, Ceyoka (Pvt) Ltd.

The Ceyoka Trade Stall was set up similar to a hospital ICU setting and provided visitors’ interactive simulation focusing on education and information on innovative new products.

Interactive classroom training sessions conducted by Edwards Lifesciences experts allowed attendees to see breakthrough demonstrations of the EV 1000 Clinical Platform.

The EV1000 clinical platform enables Anesthesiologists to choose parameters to monitor patients offering the physiologic status of a patient in an entirely new, intuitive and meaningful way thus helping strengthen any required therapeutic interventions.

Classroom Q&A sessions and short discussions held at the stall also provided visitors further insight in to new technology whilst enhancing their knowledge.

Currently the EV1000 clinical platform is available at leading hospitals such as Jayewardenepura Hospital and Nawaloka Hospital.

Participating in the sessions, Ceyoka’s brand partner Edwards Lifesciences, Mr. Vimal Soni Regional Sales Manager, West India noted, “Edwards Lifesciences is honored to be present at the annual College of Anesthesiologists and Intensivists sessions.

We are dedicated to providing the local anesthesia community with valuable information and educational support needed for enhanced surgical recovery.”

The Trade Stall also showcased Fukuda Denshi products manufacturer of premium bedside monitors, ultra sound scanners and ECG machines.

Endorsing Fukuda Denshi’s premium healthcare products, the Japanese Government through its development arm, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) recently donated several ECG and patient monitors for use in the public government hospitals.

Ceyoka firmly believes its participation and contribution at the Annual Congress will serve to assist those in the practice of anesthesia who will acquire and learn newest techniques and obtain critical information to better serve their patients.

Reiterating Ceyoka’s commitment, Dr. Indraratna said, “When you talk about sponsorships, what’s more important is looking at it in an educational point of view, and that way Ceyoka has been very very helpful for the last three years.

We have good relationships, they have held several workshops for us and that has been extremely successful.

“We aim to continuously support future events that will help lay the foundations for a healthy and strong society, and encourage innovation in Sri Lanka’s healthcare sector,” concluded Murugaiah.
