Polestar Performance is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Volvo 855 T5 R by uniting it with its modern day successor, the V60 Polestar.

Originally introduced in 1994, the Volvo 855 T5 R was designed to be one of the fastest wagons ever created.

It featured a turbocharged 2.3-liter five-cylinder engine that developed 240 bhp (179 kW) and 330 Nm (243 lb-ft) of torque.

It was connected to a four-speed automatic transmission which enabled the 1600 kg (3527 lb) wagon to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in seven seconds before hitting a top speed of 245 km/h (152 mph).

For comparison, the V60 Polestar has a turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine that produces 350 bhp (257kW) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque.

It is paired to a six-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system which enables the car to rocket from 0-100 km/h in 4.9 seconds before hitting an electronically-limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).
