SSMI Asia the pioneer in Lean Six Sigma education in Asia holds Sri Lanka s first ever ModuFlex style Graduation Ceremony

Businesscafe - Sri Lanka’s first-ever ModuFlex style Graduation ceremony, organized by Dr. Mikel J. Harry Six Sigma Management Institute Asia (SSMI Asia) was held on the 10th & 11th of September at Waters Edge, Colombo, Sri Lanka.

This was the 5th Asian Lean Six Sigma Belt graduation ceremony held by SSMI Asia and the 3rd Belt Graduation Ceremony held in Sri Lanka.

SSMI Global Director Dumidu Ranaweera, often referred to as the Lean Six Sigma Guru of Sri Lanka, noted,

“The term ModuFlex is coined out of the two words, ‘Modular’ and ‘Flexible’ which portray the very essence of this graduation.

Most Graduation ceremonies held in Sri Lanka tend to last for more than 4 to 6 hours & follow a strict rule book resulting in a lot of non-value-adding activities.

In times like this where the value of time and flexibility does matter and health & safety concerns have become a permanent fixture, SSMI Asia came up with this unique style of Graduation putting what we teach into practice enabling every Lean Six Sigma Belt graduand to complete their Lean Six Sigma Belt graduation in less than 10 minutes.

Applying flow management principles, we provided each of our graduands the option to reserve a time slot of their own preference over two public holidays, simply walk into the Graduation set-up, receive their certificate, take their graduation photographs and collect memorabilia in under 10 minutes.

All these were done keeping up with the expectations and grandeur of a graduation ceremony incurring no cost or fee to the graduands.

We also made sure all participants get the wider exposure they desire by live streaming the event to a worldwide audience.”

“This is a top-notch one-of-a-kind graduation we have never experienced before.

From the entrance to the exit, everything was well planned just like a drive-through experience.

And I really do admire how considerate SSMI Asia has been about the valuable time of professionals like us.

Thank you SSMI Asia (Dumidu and the team) for always raising the bar of quality in whatever you do”, expressed Dimuthu Vithanagama, Industrial Engineering Manager Crystal Martin Sri Lanka.

“This novel ModuFlex Graduation substantially reduces waiting time and provides a focused and customized service to each recipient, reducing waste, variation, and unwanted stress.

And being a pioneer in creating skillful problem solvers, we are glad to be able to set an example for everyone else in the education industry”, stated Aroshi Munasinghe, Vice-President Dr. Mikel J Harry Six Sigma Management Institute Asia.
