2K Announces 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin as 'WWE 2K16' Cover Superstar ( Video )

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin is back, and he's ready to raise some hell.

In the gaming world, that is.

The 2K gaming studio announced Monday that the WWE Hall of Famer will be the WWE 2K16 cover Superstar.

"It caught me completely off guard," Austin said to WWE.com.

"I figured I'd been gone for such a long time; it's been a while.

To get that phone call and be on the cover of what is going to be the biggest, baddest video game that there's ever been, with the roster and all the technology, and to be out of the ring for so many years meant a whole lot to me."

Austin, who retired from the ring in 2003, will be just one of 120 playable characters, past and present—the largest roster in WWE video game history.

The Texas Rattlesnake follows fellow wrestling greats like Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and John Cena, who were featured on the cover in 2014 and 2015, respectively.

The game is set to be released on Oct. 27 in North America and on Oct. 30 internationally.
